What's the best type of artificial lighting for waxing?
The lighting in my garage isn't very good and I was thinking about buying portable lights to use when I wax/detail my car. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

I bought them a little while ago so they may or may not still have them. They had them in 2 places actually. Back in the tool section and then on an end cap in the middle of the store. I'll check my Big Lots tommorow and let you know what I find.

hey - for the easy way out, you can get the Brinkman Dual Xenon
rechargeable light. It's $30, and fantastic at finding every last swirlmark,
but of course you have to hold it by hand.
Much better to get those lights on a stand that gmblack3 has --- I've
been meaning to get those for a long time. I think they have them at
Lowes, but probably $100 or more - I have to check this weekend.
Gmblack3: any link where I can get a nice set of halogens on a stand like that ? Those are sweet!

4. Suggested Task Lighting-
a)500 – 1000 watt halogen lights, mounted on a telescopic tower with a 360 swivelling lamp housing
b)100 watt florescent portable work light with two switch able 500-watt banks
c)Twin fluorescent tube ‘shop light’ in a plastic housing with an off/on switch, a hook and 15-20 foot connection cord
d)Notes: Candlepower is a rating of light output at the source; foot-candles are a measurement of light at an illuminated objec
e) Inspection Lighting-to inspect the paint finish for surface marring - Sunlight, Xenon, 500W halogen, and high pressure sodium-vapour (parking lot lights) Brinkmann - most LED’s merely glow, but Rebel's highly efficient, finely focused lens casts a 40-ft. beam of far-reaching light. Fish-eye-shaped lens focuses the light from the single white LED bulb into a bright, consistent beam; no dark spot in the beam's centre, the LED bulb is nearly indestructible and draws very little power, greatly extending battery life; runs on two AA batteries, included, a tough ABS plastic is armoured with thick, no-slip rubber grips Push-button on/off switch inset in the back cap

I took a run over there this morning and I couldn't find any of the dual 500 watt halagoens on a tripod.
I did find a handheld rechargeable dual halogen light for 13 dollars though. I'm charging it as I type this. It comes with a home and auto charger as well. I figured for 13 bucks I'd pick it up and try it out. I'll let you know how it works.
