Default Tech Wax Tried....failed

Bought a can of Meguiar's nxt generation tech wax. The package looked inviting although the product was about $20 bucks.

Tried it this morning on my VR 2008 with 4k miles.

Almost as hard to use as the old fashioned Simoniz in the yellow can from 30 years ago! This wax is great for building up your muscles and testing how much pain your back can withstand. Have used many other Meguiar's products and have been satisfied. This one is a loser.

Good side to it: I sweated so much, must have lost a pound.

Have been using Zymol, green liquid in clear bottle. Easy to put on and easy to wipe off. Shine is just as nice as Meguiar's. Also smells nice, don't understand why.

Bad side: No sweating. No weight loss. No muscle enlargement.

This is not a laboratory test. This is not an advertisement for or against any brand of wax. Just one old guy trying both products and thought that other corvette enthusiasts would like to know.

Couldn't find Rejex or Zaino in the auto parts store nor at Wally World. Perhaps I just didn't see it. Next time I may order on line. This time couldn't wait as the weather is spectacular and I felt the need to do the deed.

Rejex is sold at marine and aircraft supply stores. Some RV places also have it. You can order it through TrueValue hardware stores. Also check their website for a local distributer. That's where I got my first bottle and it was a few dollars cheaper than buying from a retailer.

Hmm, I've had the opposite experience...easy on, easy off. It's my go-to wax when I need a quick, easy shine with no effort.

Default ICE... ICE... Baby

I've been finding real love for the TurtleWax Ice... it's great stuff.... Need about three coats before it stands out... plus it can be used on all the plastic and rubber bits... I'm impressed

Get Zaino! Go to http://www.zainostore.com.
Dawn wash, Z2, Z6, Z2 and your so-so vette paint is transformed.
Clay - bar first. Any blemishes will be visible from outer space once you Zaino.

Meguiar's Tech Wax is also available in liquid form (tall, black bottle) and much easier to apply. Their Tech paste wax in the can has been around for quite a while and came out before the liquid form.

Thanks For Your Reply. Perhaps It Is Me. Perhaps The Can Of Wax Was Old As I Noticed It Had Some Wax Separation When I First Opened It.

Okay, So Maybe I Am Too Old To Wax My Own Corvette. I Just Love Doing It. Maybe I Need A Spray Wax. Heard That Is The Easiest To Use But Doesn't Last As Long.

Save The Wave!

Leon, you musta gotten a bad can or some such. As a matter of fact, DON'T get the can. Get the bottle. Goes on as a smooth liquid, and comes right off. Really easy. Been using it since it came out almost 4 years ago (maybe longer).

As to rejex, I think I'm gonna try it by ordering it from some geek on internet. Throw away the can of NXT, but if you want it easy, get the bottle of NXT.

1. Wash car with Dawn dish soap.
2. dry.
3. Apply 2 coats of Rejex.
4. Apply 1 coat NXT liquid Tech Wax
(not the spray).

2 hours later you will be

Thankyou for the instructions and I am sure that you are correct. Perhaps the time frame is overly optimistic for a man my age. First a wash and then three coats of wax. Let's see.......two days work with plenty of rest hours in between. However, remembering that I really enjoy taking care of my car, it should not be a problem as long as my back holds out. I am always open to learning new ways to do things, however my mind feels younger than my body. But my motto is: "don't give up the ship". Okay, so I stole that from someone......so what, still applies today. Again, thanks.

I made a mistake. Liquid is always easier to apply than the paste.

Sometimes I wonder if my mind is still in gear.

Thanks,

Leon, You need to invest in a dual-action polisher. Porter-Cable #7424 or an equivalent machine from someone like Autogeek. It makes application soooo much easier!

The NXT liquid has been replaced by the NXT 2.0. It's much easier to put on and take off. It also gives a much better wet look. In Walmart the old NXT is side by side with the new 2.0. The old stuff is being fazed out.
It so good I'm not buying any more Rejex.
