I have a blk car and was wondering what you guys use to get the dust off after a drive on the road. I really hate when right after a good wash the car collects dust that same day. What can I use that will be safe on the paint and won't scratch? I'm thinking maybe my leaf blower or a Cali car duster. I'm a little scared to use the car duster since it might leave fine scratches.

The compressed air in cans works good for dust, the problem is after you drive the car you have brake dust and road debris on the car, depending on where you were driving that can be very abrasive, dusters can scratch over time and of course the darker the color car the faster it will show up. When my dark color cars would get dusty I would always wash them, and in the spring time with the pollen it is better to wash than wipe.

I just hate that when I drive the car right after a fresh wash she get all dirty. I'm looking for a way to keep her clean until she needs a good wash. I guess for now I'll try using my leaf blower. Do you guys see anything wrong with using a leaf blower to clean off dust?

I rewash .... to many potential contaminents (like sand) that could scratch. Tread lightly with duster or MF Towel and Quick Detailer after a spirited run.

Once it is driven soap and water is the only safe way.

If it is just garage dust I will use a California Mega Duster.

Ummm no.

Seriously, if it's too dusty for the leaf blower, then just rinse the hose off it and the water should sheet right off, then use the blower to get the rest off.

If it were me though, I'd just wait and rewash it once a week.

I used to have a black 02 so I know how you feel, but trust me it's not worth dusting off and risking serious swirls, remember you're probably the only one who sees it, everyone else sees a shiny kick butt car that they wish they had.

I have my supermodel GF's, yeah I have 3 just like Hef, strip down and pass their rear by the car, if all the dust isn't removed I slap their butts and make them do it again

If it's light dust after driving I have always used a California Car Duster and followed that up with Zaino Z6. I can't imagine washing the car after EVERY time you drive it. If it's really dirty yes. A little dust I use the Calif. Duster.

I just got mine out of winter storage, spent 1/2 day detailing it, went for a short 5 minute ride with my 3 yrd old daughter, parked it in the garage and couldn't believe the dust, especially on the *** end!

I think owners see the dust, others just see a hot car!

Black car here. I use either a cali duster or a leaf blower for light dust. Works great for me.

another black vette here... with no issues using a CA Car Duster. I am careful to keep the weight of the duster off the finish... i let the threads "hang" and drag across the finish while supporting the weight of the duster myself. Works really well for me... I dust mine daily; sometimes twice.

Cali duster and/or microfiber towels work good if you have a good coat of zaino or rejex on the car I use rejex and the dust comes right off with no scratches.

What do you guys think about gently laying a MF towel on the car and lightly dragging it with no pressure applied.
