maaco paint last fall/now which wax??????
Which wax to use on my car? I have never waxed it before.
Best brand, preferably the easiest to apply to a new coat of paint. By the way it is black and an 85 vette.

That's a real subjective question and you'll get a lot of answers. If money is no object, I think the best for black is Pinnacle Souveran...not cheap but outstanding stuff. Easy to go on and easy off. The absolute best for blacks and reds. It's available from one of the Forum's sponsors.
Another great wax, especially for the money, is Griot's Garage Best of Show Wax or Carnauba Wax Stick. I've used the Wax Stick as a first coat and the Best of Show Wax as a top with great results. On my Torch Red car I use the Wax Stick with Pinnacle Souveran over it...just beautiful!
Try several different waxes and see which you think looks best. It took a while to decide which I liked best for my cars. Buy small containers and try each. At some car shows you might be able to pick up some free sample sizes...try them and see which you like.

Will the "best" wax be justified on a Maaco paint job? If you're looking for protection, go with a paint sealant. Plus, if you haven't done anything to your car's finish since the fall, you might want to buff/polish it before sealing it. That will improve the look more than ANY wax could hands down.
