Default How to remove stickers on visors?

I want to remove the ugly stickers on the sun visors! You know, the ones that say you should put a child in the back seat! Since my vette doesn't have a back seat, I want to remove the stickers. When I tried, they seem to leave a very sticky goo on the visor, so I stopped.

What is the best way to remove these?

It's something I haven't done yet, but have been told a heat gun should do the trick.

Got mine off by carefully and slowly peeling, starting from a corner on a warm summer day. I guess the hair dryer would help. Take your time and you should be OK.

Low heat and carefully peel. Use a little Goof-off to remove the adhesive from the visor once the sticker is off...

A heat gun will work but be careful not too much heat you do not want to melt the material on the visor. may be better to try a hair dryer. Good luck

If you have any problems getting them off there are vinyl labels for about $15 available from some of our supporting vendors. I found some with C6 logos on them a while back - they are just peal and stick (I added a little elmer's glue to insure they don't release in the summer heat). If carefully placed to cover the sticker they look good, or at least better than the yellow label....

Thanks for all the advice guys! I will try the hair dryer idea first today. If that doesn't work, I will try something else.

I had to use a stiff wire brush with Goo Be Gone to get the residue off. The visor material is tough material. The visor shows no effects from using the brush other than the it's clean.

I heard alot of stories of people not happy with the results. I've learned to live with them. IMHO it's probably easier to cover them first. Some venders sell plain ones similar to the material on the visor. If you not happy with the look then you could go the other route and remove them. Good Luck

Spray the sticker with WD-40. Let it set for a few minutes. Take a double edge razor blade and carefully work the blade into the sticker from the edge of the sticker. Remember to keep the sticker and blade wet by using a lot of WD-40.

I don't think this method should be used on a sunvisor! You would never get the WD-40 out of the cloth! This would work fine to remove a sticker from a windshield though.

Here's a write up I saw the other day. Haven't tried it myself yet.
