How often can you wax your car?
Curious what to use to strip old wax off of car and how often can I wax my car? Does it hurt to put on multiple coats of wax?

No, it doesn't hurt to put on multiple coats; some polishes even suggest it. As to taking it off, it's been said that Dawn dishwashing detergent does it. I've never tried it.
I just use my good car wash and figure it's good enough.
Long time ago, I used to use detergent (dish stuff). Now I don't. I think the specific car wash soap is easier on the clear coat.

I use Zaino and polish my car after every wash. Normally with a carnuaba wax this would be a waste of time but with Zaino it will layer up to a certian extent. The way I see it I always have the maxinum amout of polish and protection on the car that I can. Whenever I wash it I am always replacing whatever was removed plus some. It also allows me to spend some quality time with my car and lets me get to know every square inch of my finish.

Some have said that Dawn will damage the rubber seals, but if you just use it once or twice a year it should not hurt. I use NXT 2.0 and apply 2nd coat after the first coat sits over night. You might go on the car care section on the forum and get more opinions.

As often as you have the time or inclination to do it.

2.) A clay bar session, Prep-Sol solvent or a polish with an abrasive.......
3.) More than two isn't going improve the results. Wax products are diferent than a clear sealant like Zaino......

That must be one of those "they said it, so it must be so" things. I've used dawn for years to strip wax.

I use Liguid Glass and It is applied in mutiple coats. Easy on and off
so First thing with a new car is a coat every wash till 5 coats or more build up then every 3-4 washes. Actually builds a thickness. Regular wax does not do this
5 coats is still one as the last one removes them each time.

We'll see how my new Vette holds up, I'll never wax or polish it and never use any soaps. My '00 Camaro was never waxed or polished and always hand washed with only water. 6 years old, it still had showroom sheen. The guy I sold it to said he would make it a show car. So, with my Vette I don't see why I should use my time polishing. I'd rather use it driving!

Does anyone know for absolute certainty that Dawn removes auto wax from the car?
I'm asking because I see no proof of this statement in another application. I polish, then use Mothers Auto Wax on my stainless steel kitchen sinks. Dawn Dishsoap is the soap of choice in the kitchen and the WAX lasts several months before I redo the routine again.
It does not appear the wax is removed from the sinks during that time.
And I certainly can't believe that Dawn would remove one of the polymer products, i.e. Zaino, Rejex, etc.
