Please help with etched clear coat!!
on my driver's side o/s mirror, the clear coat is etched.. I thought it was the remenants of tape, and I'd never been able to get it off. I was trying something harsher today - rubbing compound, and noticed the rag was turning paint color, but the marks were just as bad. So i expiramented with a razorblade.. it's not adhesive left on the car, it's etchings from adhesive.
So, what are my options?
Should i wet-sand the clear off, and spray a new layer of clear?
Or would i be better off leaving it like it is, and anything I could do would do more damage than good?
