95 percent of the shine comes from the prep underneath the car
a good machine polish will do wonders for the car

Believe it or not, I always got a great shine on the car from using Armor All Paste wax. But, it is no longer available.

I recently used Turtle Wax on my DD and it did a great job too.

I have also used Adam's Polishes Butter Wax with excellent results.

I use IBIZ Show wax. Easy on and off. Does not leave white residuals and has a nice shine.

this has the potential of becoming a locked thread. It's really all personal preference and it also depends on your budget. There are too many good waxes out there. So like I said it comes down to personal taste.

Car Care Discussion section has tons of great info on this....

The Adam's products are fantastic. I recommend the Buttery wax or Americana canuba wax. Both products are easy to apply and removed.

I forgot to mention that the zymol cleaner wax makes alot of powder when removing but it makes my surface feel just as smooth as when she is freshly clayed. the NXT 2.0 Liquid on the other hand goes on like butter and comes off like butter just make sure you use a mf towel or it will be a pain to remove

I like Meguiars, #3 Machine Glaze once or twice a year or maybe #7 Show Car Glaze. The only thing bad the #3 should be done with a buffer, much easier.

And keeping up with it as needed.

After that it's mostly personal preference though many people will claim "XXXXX" is the world's best.

Griot's Garage Best of Show Wax is the best stuff I have ever used for actual shine. Best part is it's only like $20.

It doesn't last as long as other wax's though.
