1. Wipe down all plastic and dash/door area's with a light APC on a damp towel.
2. Clean all glass, and remove any/all film as helps contain the smell.
3. Clean leather surfaces, and apply a leather protectant.
4. Spray all areas with Carpro's So2Pure product to release and remove smoke from carpets.

Also consider changing any filters like the in-cabin filter and use a charcoal impregnated version. I would also clean the air-ducts with 1Z Einszett Klima Kleaner. This should make a very notable difference in a car that smells of smoke at a reasonable cost.

I rented a small ozone generator (ozonator) to remove stubborn odors from a used car I bought. This was what I did:
I extracted the carpets and cleaned the interior thoroughly. This reduced the odor in the car, but it was still evident. After the interior was dry I placed the ozonator in the car. I ran the power cord through the rear window and sealed it with a piece of foam. With the interior sealed up I ran the ozonator for 3 hours. I was very happy with the results no more odor. I have had the car for close to 3 years now and the odor has not returned. Good luck.

Charcoal will soak up the smell. Put several pieces in the car, have the windows up and set the car in the sun. Repeat for several days. The smell will be gone.

I have had luck with a good cleaning, wipe down all plastic well, clean windows and shampoo carpets. Place a box of Arm and Hammer under each seat and change weekly.
