Car Detailing – Zaino vs. Adams
I have been a loyal fan of Zaino for years but am finding it difficult to find the product. When you buy it on-line (I’m from Canada) and include shipping – it is expensive.
I’m not against buying a superior product that works, but wanted to explore alternatives.
I go every year to Carlisle and there is always a huge Adams display where a lot of my friends purchase Adams.
What say you? Should I make the switch?

I've used them both but find Zaino to be superior in shine and durability. When you consider how little product you use with each application the cost ends up being less for Zaino IMO.

I have not used Zaino products, so I cannot tell you anything about them.
I have used many Adams products for the past two years and am satisfied with them and the results I get from using them.

Keep using the Zaino. I have switched and have tried MANY other products and always end up back with the Zaino. IMHO nothing can beat it.

Adams makes a great line of products, have used them in the past with no complaints. Have not tried Zaino at present I use Rejex and very happy with the results/cost/durability/ease of use.

I used Adams and found it to lack durability. Have not found anything that has the long lasting durability and gloss of Zaino. As far as dust, not sure why you're having the problem your having unless you're using towels dried in high heat. Those towels can transfer electrostatic properties to your paint which could possibly attract dust. I have found less dust with Zaino then any other product I've used. This time of year where I live we get a lot of pollen, even in the garage and it can't be avoided. If it is really heavy I blow it off with an electric leaf blower or simply drive the car and the pollen (dust) blows right off.

I heard the Zaino products have a lengthly, multi-step process, beyond the typical, wash, clay, polish, wax, etc.
What is the total start-finish timeline?

It's only as complicated as you want to make it. If I was doing a spring detail I can spend hours dilly-dallying with clay, AIO, Z5 or Klasse on top.
The Vette I might do every other year...It gets wet maybe twice a year and I'll hit it with Z6 .... Wipe on-Buff or Clear Seal ...Wipe on
This one takes 40 minutes to do it all the white paint.

No different then any other product line. All depends on to what you length you want to take it and if you have any paint correction that needs to done. Why do you think Adams, Mothers, etc carry so many products. If one product did everything they would all be out of business.

Zaino is a very easy product to use. However, like any product you use, if you do not put in the prep work, the finish will not be as great as you would expect. For me, prep work includes, wash with dawn, clay, good compound type liquid polish, pre-wax cleaner, one coat of Z5 or a coat of Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax , topped off with a coat of Zaino Clear Seal. This initial process takes me about 5 hours. However, once after this process, I can wash my vette, dry it using the pooling rinsh method, wipe down with Z6, do my windows, and finish with my tires, all within an hour. That is just me. The end results is, you get the end results as to the effort you put in.
