Default California Duster Lifetime

How long should a California Duster last before you replace it? I have one that's pretty dark and dingy looking and I bet I've had that sucker for 5 years or more.

It's just getting broken in.... Seriously I have been using the same one for over 6 years.

I have a wooden handled one in the trunk of my GTO that is at least 12 years old. The one in the trunk of my 07 C6 has been there since the car was new. Shake it out after each use and put it back in the sleeve and it should last forever.
Naturally, that is if you use it as it is intended to be used for light garage dust.

I have been using mine for 5 years and all is good, but if you are concerned they are cheap enough to replace.

Most will suggest the dirtier they get, the better they work. I would say that you need to replace it if you notice and paint damage as something like pollen or sand is stuck in the strands. Use with care and you'll see years of use.

I guess it depends on how much it gets used.

I replace mine when it turns mostly black. I also use as light of a pressure as I can always.

Just for dust when car has been sitting in garage, otherwise I am on it with the QD.

No soap and water here for over 2 years now.

I have had mine for 20 years still going strong.
