Default Used Adams for the first time

Black 2001 Coupe. Used Adams Swirl & Haze Remover (with dual action porter cable style polisher)--2 coats, Buttery Wax--2 coats, & Brilliant Glaze.

WW!!!!

Did it ever make that paint pop! I've had the car 3 years & it has never looked anywhere near that good.

It is, however,,,, BLACK. & every little character mark, chip, etc. in the less than perfect 12 year old, 100k mile black paint, shows the product residue...

What do others do, that have imperfect black or dark paint to remove or cover the residue??? Or maybe add to the polish & wax so it won't show???

Thx

After working each panel I will wipe the panel down to clean it. You can use isopropyl alcohol on a clean single soft or waterless wash towel to clean each panel. If the residue is heavy or has dried too long it will take a little time to soften it up.

With more practice you will find a good rhythm to polishing that works well for you.

Thanks for the advise. Before I used the Adams polish, I used wax made for black paint. Any product that was caught in the nicks & not able to easily wipe away was dark in color & hid itself.

I guess what I really need to do is repair the chips & nicks. Then I wont have this problem, huh??? It's just been a long process of getting the car in shape. (My middle name is NOT deep pockets). I'm just now getting to do fun things to the car, like suspension mods, fix cosmetic issues, etc.

Just a heads up I'd clay before doing any polishing unless it was done within the last month. Or atleast do the baggy test on the paint prior to any polishing.

But congrats on fixing your paint

Put your hand in a Ziploc bag and rub across the paint if it glides across the surface smooth your ok if it feels like sandpaper then you need to claybar the paint.
