Default Home Stove

I have a GE smooth top glass stove in my house that is 11 years old. It is starting to show some wear and wanted to know if anyone has ever used a buffer on it to remove the scratches and dull areas. I currently have a Flex with various types of Lake Country CCS pads. Before I use the Flex on it, I wanted to know if any other member has successfully used this approach to remove the scrtaches and dullness before I venture to try it, screw it up and incur the wrath of the WIFE!

Any tips of what to do or not do based on your experiences would be greatly appreciated

I have used my Porter Cable on the Granite to remove some spots. Never tried it on the cooktop. If I screw mine up she will get the big gas top she wants.

I have heard it done using the stove cleaner (ceramibrite). Handle with care and test a spot as possible. Consider a light pad (nothing to abrasive) and keep speed and pressure down

I used the PC with an old pad and some "Glass Cooktop" cleaner on my smoothtop electric stove and it did a pretty nice job.
I should add that I masked off around the glass cooktop to eliminate the possibility of scratch marks to the surrounding surfaces.
