My First Attempt at Paint Correction
So I spend some time and cash over at Auto Geek learning how to properly correct paint. My car's paint was in very good condition, just some very minor swirls from washing it improperly over the past few years. Now I have a foam cannon, 2 bucket system, wash mitt, grit guard and a master blaster to dry it.
What I started out with.
My purchases.
So I washed and clayed the car and then got the car prepped for the buffing.
I first started off with the Meguiars M101 and a Lakes Country orange pad followed directly with the Meguiars M205 and a LC blue pad. I did not remove the M101 but just worked the compound until it broke down. I worked in small sections being very careful of any edges or body line creases.
The results are simply amazing. I cannot see a single swirl or micro abrasion under a strong fluorescent light. Now I have to apply the 22PLE and call it a day (job for next weekend).

I taped off any of the rubber trim and edges. You don't want the pad to hit the rubber trim while rotating.
Same with the edges. Having the pad come into contact to an edge without compound could burn the paint.
I also taped the hood into sections to work in small areas (protecting any raised body lines). Again, rotating pad on a body line crease can result in bad things if you are not careful. I was going to practice on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee or my wife's car but decided I learned enough from the Auto Geek vids and forums to give it a go on my baby.
I just took my time, had patience and followed exactly what I learned.

You guys just did. Last night I ordered the Rupes 75E to help me hit those tight areas that are difficult to get to with the Flex and a 5.5 inch pad.
I also bought Menzerna Super Finish PO85RD. My thoughts are to use this with a Lake Country White or Black pad on a low speed to lightly polish my Xpel clear bra (being careful of course of my edges).
Sound good?
I had a modification sickness, now I think I got the detailing bug too.

85RD will greatly enhance the gloss. Check your work under LED light, fluorescent doesn't show much. And the Megs products you listed...they don't "break down" you can work them till the residue starts to disappear but they are a non-diminishing abrasive that doesn't break down. So it will continue to cut until you stop.
