Attack of the stone in the wash mit! What are my options?
I was unlucky tonight and picked up a stone in my mitt. It did a pretty good job at scratching the paint, it appears to be through the paint itself. I've never dealt with a scratch of this magnitude. Would something like Dr. Colorchip work? Wetsand and then touch up? or am I looking at a full paint and blend? I'm looking for any and all options. Thanks!
Here's the scratch... might as well have been a key.

Tough luck. Does it look too deep for a dual action polisher? I have used Dr. Color Chip on a black Tahoe, black BMW, and a sea foam green Volvo. It worked pretty well on black but you have to go lightly. I never did a scratch that big either.

Well, I took it to the shop and the general concensus was no way could a stone have caused the scratch. Who knows how long I've been driving around with that scratch.
If you are in North Carolina around the Charlotte/Mooresville/Lake Norman area head to Lake Norman Paint and Body and ask for the owner, Harley. He's a Corvette guy and runs a great shop.
We started off with a lot of wet sanding but after a couple hours decided to just paint the whole fender.
