Fender cover?
Installing the hood on hy c3 with my 2 sons yesterday. I was careful, no zippers or buttons on clothes. Never really worried about it working on cars. Do remember trying a fender cover back in the 80s but got annoyed and threw it out after it slid off the chevelle a few times. So, any recommendations on a good one that stays put and I can use when leaning into the engine bay?

I use those rubber-like fender covers called "grippers". They come with a variety of Corvette logos and most of the regular suppliers carry them. Just google fender covers, grippers, corvette logo and you will find them.
They stay in place and protect your paint. They also make nice decorations for the garage if you buy extras.
