This is what I purchased and use. Higher quality than those sold at Sears, Harbor Freight, etc.

I have a pneumatic stool from Harbor Freight that cost around 20 or 25 bucks. Works just fine and the adjustable height is nice. I find it most useful when doing the wheels.

You may find a lawn/gardening chair also which often works well and not that expensive.

Easy Foldz step stool $10. Folds flat. Fits in the rear cargo net for car meets and you can use it in the house for changing air filters, etc..

I just received my Traxion 2 - 700 detailing chair. After viewing all the responses and checking out various vendors I chose the Traxion chair. Now I just need some warm weather so I can get the car out and do some detailing !!!
