Im sure this topic has been beaten to death, so please forgive me for a new post. Black C7 Z07. Which polish do you prefer for a black car? Brand and product name.

red paint.

I have tried a couple on my black tahoe, including surf city garage black edge liquid wax and their black edge detailing spray. If it was better than all the other products I use it was not noticeable to me. I can't remember the other one I tried.

A polish is an abrasive liquid used to correct paint defects and help remove marring and swirls. The best polishes are NOT color specific. Brands like Megs, Menzerna, Rupes, and others exist.

Not if you are looking for a wax, paint sealant, or coating to protect paint, then many great choices are available. They don't add as much to black paint and proper polishing, but are still valid and help protect a nice finish. Consider Blackfire, Wolfgang, Menzerna and Rejex for sealants. Pinnacle if you want a 'nuba wax. And coatings like those from Gtechnic and Optimum are the newest, longest, and glossiest products to keep black looking great.

The best wax for a black car is Pinnacle Souveran...there is no other. Of course that's my opinion but I've found nothing better.

If you want a sealant, there's lots of choices...more than can be listed and everyone has their own favorite.

Go to the Autogeek's website, and read up on coatings. I did my '08 CRM coupe with Duragloss, and I'm doing my '89 TTA with DP. Very impressed with the results, and I don't impress easily.

I use Meguires M205 finishing polish for light swirls (with a machine), but there are a number of extra fine finishing polishes that would do a great job. If the car isn't scratched up yet, then some kind of sealer or wax is all I would put on it.

Its a great and easy to use wax hybrid with sealant durability and characteristics. Like every wax and sealant in the Blackfire line, its unique and stands out amongst its competitors.

not sure what you are trying to imply, but a polish is indeed abrasive. Its an abrasive liquid or paste. Now ... some companies use the term lightly to make their product stand out amongst others, but they are not really "polishes". A synthetic wax without abrasives and cleaners, is simply a SEALANT no matter what the title suggests.

Now I do not suggest you will always need to abrade a surface. It is done to remove or reduce marring and swirls. Its correcting damage brought on thru the environment, improper washing, and improper drying.

I've been using P21S for some ten years. It is an amazing wax for ease of use and shine and cost I might add.
I am not a vendor so I can't post pics of my black Tundra. My Vette is blue.
PM me and I will show you what P21S can do to a vehicle.
I've been showing friends this wax for years and doing demo's at car events for clubs I am in.
I am not a full time pro or forum vendor, just a very happy customer.

I didn't think Zaino polish was an abrasive. Damn marketing fooled me again.

Z-2 and Z-5 are not abrasive. AIO is a light abrasive; PC is a little more abrasive.

Zaino actually makes a polish, I believe its called Fusion. They use the term "show car polish" on their paint sealants Z2Pro and Z5Pro, which is simply a creative way to stand out in a crowd of synthetic waxes.

Yes you were fooled, by Zaino. They insist on calling their sealants a polish. They are not polishes. The only Zaino product that is a polish is Fusion.

Try some more research next time before posting something snippy towards a vendor and a person who devotes a great amount of time to this forum.

I used Turtle Wax Black and I was very impressed. Brought out a mirror like reflection that fooled the Dealership how old my Jeep was. They thought it was a 2012 at the time, but it was 2007. The black reflection had a deep gloss/wet shine to it.

I suppose I should apologize right up front about my car being less than perfect….I drive it. Mea culpa. One of the negatives to a typical wax/sealant product is that they leave white residue in the stone chip marks in the paint--very noticeable on a black car. Is there a product that has a base tinted black, or one that won't leave white gunk in the paint defects?
