Default I want to start off right this time

I have ordered a new black C7 which I hope will arrive in mid-May. I want to take care of the car right from the very start. In the past I have tried all different polishers and waxes on my Corvettes, including Zaino, Adams, the high end McGuire’s, etc. I had really good results with Zainos on my old black c5, but not so much on my Monterey red C6. I had better results with Adams on that car, but I was never really able to make her shine like the C5 did. I plan on putting a wax (or polish) job on it as soon as I take delivery.

How should I treat the brand new paint job and should I use my Porter Cable to buff in the wax, or is this overkill with new paint? Should I use a claybar to make certain there are no pollutant on the finish. Any recommendations would be welcome.

Definitely use the clay bar before starting. The PC makes the job so much easier. I use it for everything I can. I have tried a lot of different products. I am using Wolfgang now and like it. I have also had good results with all of the Adam's products.

So... Mr. AutoGeek, if you do not mind saying, what brands of polish and sealer would you recommend that I order in terms of the products on your website to get started? (You can PM if you want to) I would like to use something that is fairly easy to use that will protect my paint and put on a really glassy shine.

Thanks in advance

I love Menzerna polishes. With GM paints (often considered hard) I use the ceramiclear polishes which are SIP, Nano, and 085rd. I have listed them from medium to light as most wont need anything more abrasive. Menzerna uses diminishing abrasives which break down over their use. Best part, their gloss ratings are extremely high.

As for sealants, synthetic paint sealants, my personal favorite and a hidden gem in our lines is Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection. It is a pure sealant with no cleaners or abrasives. It is meant for protection. It is quite easy to apply and remove, looks very glossy and reflective, and quite slick. I have used it for many years thru some updates and I still think its one of the best. Our Blackfire Sealant is equally as impressive.

Default Thanks

Before now, I had not noticed the "sticky" you have for questions. Thanks for the information

Apologies for not checking out the sticky thread.

I would use Chadwick's Triple Play. Only 1 product to use. Check out their website.
