Default Wax Question

I washed the Vette and then used Mothers California Gold Synthetic Wax. Is it OK to wash the car again next weekend and apply the Mothers California Gold paste carnauba wax over top of the synthetic? I have never used synthetic wax before.

Simply yes .... if you are going to top a product the sealant (synthetic wax) comes first and once cured you can top with a 'nuba wax. Just make sure it has no heavy cleaners/polishes that could remove the original work.

Thanx for the quick reply. I just clay bar the car and waxed it. How long do I need to wait before applying another coat of wax. I do realize the clay bar killed the syn. wax.

Generally you can top a synthetic wax (sealant) after it has cured. It depends on the environment, but generally 8-24 hours max. If you have high humidity allow a bit more time than dry areas.

Default Multiple Coats of Sovereign?

Is there any benefit to applying addition coats of a Carnauba wax like Sovereign?

Whether to top a sealant with a wax depends on what "look" you want. Few waxes will be as durable as a sealant so durability is a moot point between them, so you're left with the appearance.

Sealants give a very reflective finish that seems somewhat plastic looking. A good carnauba wax gives the deep, wet look. Which is important to you? If you want the wet look, top the sealant with Souveran or whatever fine carnauba you want. If not, leave the sealant finish as-is.

A couple years ago there was a movement called "spit shining" in which you spritz cold water on a wax level and layered a second layer. Some suggested it added to the finish .... to much work for me.

Generally you can put on two coats but more about complete coverage than anything else. Often anything more is likely just wasted product. If you want to add something over a wax, I might suggest a booster spray.
