Default 1993 Corvette 40th anniversay Paint Correction Walk through

Hello guys we recently had another customer come in to help perfect this beauty. Today I will walk you through the procedure we take to help the cars really stand out. Our customer has taken good care of the car but wanted that final detail to really make it stand out and stay protected from the elements here in Las Vegas.

Here are some before shots of just some quick views of what we were working with. Nothing too terrible but some of the scratches and marring had to be worked on with a 2 step method since it was original paint.
<a href="http://s159.photobucket.com/user/Gloss-it_bucket/media/LightRoom-163439_zpsz8kmfeqj.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t150/Gloss-it_bucket/LightRoom-163439_zpsz8kmfeqj.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo LightRoom-163439_zpsz8kmfeqj.jpg"/></a><a href="http://s159.photobucket.com/user/Gloss-it_bucket/media/LightRoom-092550_zpskl8mck76.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t150/Gloss-it_bucket/LightRoom-092550_zpskl8mck76.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo LightRoom-092550_zpskl8mck76.jpg"/></a><a href="http://s159.photobucket.com/user/Gloss-it_bucket/media/LightRoom-092202_zpsf3g0xnz6.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t150/Gloss-it_bucket/LightRoom-092202_zpsf3g0xnz6.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo LightRoom-092202_zpsf3g0xnz6.jpg"/></a>

First step to any paint correction is to take out any surface contamination by using our Gloss-It Shampoo and Gloss-It Claybar, once properly prepped go ahead and dry off the vehicle like normal using our Gloss-It Ultra Plush Microfiber Towel. We proceed to the wheels and tires. Use a generous amount of Gloss-It APC and Gloss-It Signature Wheel Gel to clean the rim, tire, and wheel well. Be sure to use our Gloss-It Wheel Spoke Brush to clean inside the rim and hard to reach places near caliper! For the face of the rim we use our Gloss-It boars hair brush. Use a pressure washer or hose to rinse off the remaining chemicals. Lastly use our Gloss-it Hexi Tire applicator with either Gloss-It TRV or Gloss-It Tire Gloss to protect the outside tire. TRV gives more of a satin new tire look while tire gloss gives a deep wet look. We do sell a wash kit which is your best bang for your buck and includes what you need to get started washing your car like a professional!

Step 2 would consist of masking up all trim, emblems, door handles, etc things you wouldn't want polish getting on to clean later. We like to use orange painters tape since it sticks well without leaving residue. Next we drive the car up ramps to elevate the front end and put lights on all corners to find problematic areas.

<a href="http://s159.photobucket.com/user/Gloss-it_bucket/media/LightRoom-1589_zpslgtdgkwc.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t150/Gloss-it_bucket/LightRoom-1589_zpslgtdgkwc.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo LightRoom-1589_zpslgtdgkwc.jpg"/></a><a href="http://s159.photobucket.com/user/Gloss-it_bucket/media/LightRoom-1584_zps0axact6g.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t150/Gloss-it_bucket/LightRoom-1584_zps0axact6g.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo LightRoom-1584_zps0axact6g.jpg"/></a>

Step 3: Start at one panel of the car of your choosing and start buffing, depending on how bad your vehicle is will determine which pad/polish combo to use. We experiment on a small area first to find out which will be most satisfactory without taking up the whole day. This job we used our Gloss-It EVO21 Polisher with Gloss-It 6" Wool Heavy Cut Pad followed by Gloss-It 6" Orange Moderate Cut Pad. We also used a combination of Gloss-It EVO 1000 Cut Polish and Gloss-It EVO 1500 Cut Polish.

Step 4: Now to remove the pigtails and small marring caused from the abrasive cut pad/polish! We wipe all the polish off the vehicle and start over in the same spot you started before using a combination of the Gloss-It 6" Yellow Cut Finish Pad and Gloss-It 6" Blue Final Finishing Pad. The polishes for these pads are Gloss-It EVO 2000 Cut Finish, and Gloss-It EVO 3000 Ultra Finish.

Step 5: Lastly cleaning the interior, this corvette had artic white interior so it's especially hard to keep clean being white. We scrub all surfaces to remove any old polish or build up using our Gloss-It Interior Sponge and Gloss-It Leather/Vinyl Cleaner. After cleaning the surface you can now apply our Gloss-It Leather/Vinyl Polish to recondition the leather and keep it protected from future cracking caused by being dried out.

It was an honor to help restore the shine back into this classic and the customer was more than happy to keep the original paint protected. Following these steps you can make almost any car look better then when you picked it up. Here are the final shots of the car as a whole.
