Default Waiting 90 days to wax after a visit to the collision shop??

My Jetta was involved in a wreck last month. Nothing big just a new door and fender...$3,300 worth of damage. Yes VW parts are expensive.
Picked up the vehicle yesterday and they said not to wax/polish the door and fender for 90 days so the paint and clear coat have time to cure.
It has been a long time since I have had any body work done. Is it true to let the paint cure for 90 days?

If your paint isn't baked on 60 days for a car that lives outside 90 days for a car that lives inside. However I would do what they said......

I would do what the paint shop suggests over anyone else to be safe.
