Default Not happy with AutoGeek!

Long time customer of Auto Geek here. I buy all of my care car supplies through them.

I went to order a new can of Pinnacle Souveran and was pleased to see Auto Geek was running a 15% off "special."

I go to place my order, put in the discount code and have my discount. Very happy so far! Then, I go to pay and notice shipping is $15.95! Are you kidding me?

Pinnacle Souveran comes in a 3 ounce container. It is tiny and would easily fit in a $3.00 USPS bag which includes shipping. It would also easily fit in a $4.95 small sized Priority Shipping box. In fact, three cans of the wax could fit inside this box!

Needless to say I did not complete my order. I felt scammed big time!

Be careful when you order from Auto Geek. I have never taken a look at my shipping charges when ordering from them. I will now!

Are you sure you didn't fat finger something? Did you check overnight shipping? Something doesn't sound right. I just ordered 2 large spray bottles of wax and detailer and the shipping was only $6.95.

I just tried ordering it again with the 15% code "WEDS15" and got the $15.95 shipping fee again for a 3 ounce product.

As you will see in the photo, this was for "ground shipping" which is the least expensive AutoGeek has. Pretty shady for sure!!!!

Wonder if the shipping rate is determined by the total price of the order? My order was $39.95.

Shipping charges have indeed increased nationwide. We do offer several shipping options. There are also legal issues on what we can ship and with which carriers. If in doubt, it is best to call in your order or use the comments section. Orders are not final billed until shipped, so you can always cancel if the return call or email doesn't help resolve any issue with pricing, shipping, and guarantees. You can request a call back, and notate the issue.

I would also suggest and remind the public, that we try and offer free shipping offers and other discounts that most other vendors don't. It is always best to measure any purchase with the total cost including all variables from each vendor. I too like "free shipping" but have learned not all offers beat out a healthy discount.

We are always looking for additional shipping opportunities and discounts from carriers when possible, we understand the challenge and not trying to harm or dupe anyone.

Interesting that NDMIKE88 paid $6.95 shipping.
Your shipping was $15.95 - $9.00 "savings" = $6.95...

You have got to be kidding? You are using the "sale price" to rationalize and justify $15.95 in shipping charges for a 3 ounce item that cost $59.00? An item that was advertised as a "sale price?" If true, this is completely illegal...it is called "Bait and Switch." I do not believe this is the case.

I never saw that before. These are some pretty steep charges for shipping considering 99.9% of cleaning, polishing, waxing, etc., product can fit is a USPS Priority Shipping Box for less than $15.00. Many of those charges are 50% of the item's value. In my case, the shipping charge for the $59 can of wax was almost 1/3 the total price.

I just received a very classy Private Message from Killrwheels. He did not attempt to rationalize or justify AutoGeek's shipping costs. He just explained his position. Very professional response I must say. Thanks Scott!

OK I screwed up. Let me explain.
I ordered the Pinnacle XMT Instant Shine Combo. Normal price was $39.99 but it was on sale for $29.99 plus I received a new customer discount of $4.50 making my total $25.49. I paid $7.95 for shipping NOT $6.95.
Sorry for any confusion my previous posts might have caused.

This is why I always wait until "Free Shipping" is offered with orders over $XXX dollars. I never order small single items because the shipping will usually eat up any discount savings.

Only problem is you have to spend $150 to qualify for the free shipping.

It used to be $100.00 but shipping rates have increased over the last couple years and they have to cover those costs. When I order it is usually a restock of items used for the entire year and can exceed the $150 free shipping minimum. Also you can subscribe to the AG newsletter where specials are run frequently sometimes with free shipping.

Black Friday is only about a month away. I spent $400 last year. This year may be $200 in consumables. Shipping is a hassle from Florida to CA slow boat...it takes 8 days, but if the deal is right and you plan ahead...

No matter how you look at it or try to rationalize it $15.95 shipping for a 3 ounce container of wax is not justifiable.

That does seem high. With gas prices going down it is strange shipping is going up. They have free shipping now until the end of the month.( Pinnacle.com , no minmum) I got a email today. I hate when I order something and the next day it's on sale or the shipping is a bit less. On their site (PBMG) you have to look at all of their "stores" to find the deals. It might be on sale on one of their sites but not the other, very strange.
