Its hard to tell but is it left over adhesive? Is it smooth to the touch?

Yes like a rubber wheel I think it's called an eraser wheel. Yes smooth I'll have to check if it catches a fingernail

If its smooth i would think it should buff out or even clean up with some hand polishing.

If it looked good when you left the shop my guess is they used something with alot of fillers and did not remove the imperfections.

If you removed the body side moldings from the car, you likely have some light discoloration against the areas that saw sun and UV rays. You will also see adhesive marks and perhaps even hard water marks where it sat under the molding and on the adhesive.

I would first consider a good wash, claying and paint cleansing to assure any remaining sticky is gone and doors are ready to polish abrasively. You might need to consider a light wet sanding but I would not go to that length until polishing is done right. For best results do not spot polish, but polish the entire area to try and blend it.

Let us know how it turns out and if something else is found to be the culprit.

K. Looks like glue residue. I had a jeep once upon a time and repainted but the stripes kinda bleed thru the paint. Same thing I'm guessing
