Default Rear Bumper letters

I took off my old bumper letters with a hair dryer. There is still some adhesive left on the bumper inserts. I can use 3M adhesive remover on them before I install the new letters? Correct?

WD-40 will remove the leftover adhesive without harming the paint.

Also remember the clean the area well to prep for the new letters. A solvent like 3M should work. If you wash car before applying and soap has any residue or wax in it, consider a quick alcohol wipe.

Use plain rubbing alcohol. It will dry without any residue or oils.

Would you use denatured alcohol or wd 40 to take off the sticky stuff of the bumper?

either should work well .. just remember when using WD-40 to wipe down the area as the lubricating oils will not help once the news letters are installed.

I use Goo Gone or an adhesive remover first and then an alcohol wipe down to make sure all residue is gone and prep the surface for the new letters. Some letter kits have an adhesive promoter which you may want to use just to make sure the letters stick.
