First time DIY paint care for me, what else do I need?
There's plenty to read and lots of videos on Autogeek and other sites I know, but I'm always afraid I miss something and I know you guys will help a brother out so I don't screw something up.
Here's what I have so far:
Porter Cable 7424XP
Power Washer
Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash + sponges and a bucket for hand washing
Meguiar's Clay Bar Kit & Detailer Bottle (Can I just use car wash solution for moisture, or is detailer suggested?)
Mother's California Gold 3 step system (I jumped the gun on this one, I will be going with Meguiar's products when these runs out most likely)
Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax
I'm missing pads and think backing plate for the Porter Cable..but not certain what else. Can you guys help fill in the blanks on which pads/backing plate/other stuff I need before I dive in? Thanks!
FYI I'm going to try this first on my old 2000 Blazer. If all goes well, Vette will be next after initial practice.

Former Vendor
Washing :
1. Two buckets (one wash, one rinse) and a couple Grit Guards
2. Claying -- get some Optimum No Rinse, great multi use product including clay lube
3. Drying --- MF towels, think Guzzlers. Consider a blower to reduce rubbing paint as $$ permits
Polishing:
1. You need a true polish for machine, consider Megs Ultimate Polish
2. 5 inch backing plate, flexible
3. 5.5 inch pads, consider Hydro Tech (only 3 abrasive designs) minimum 2 each
4. MF towels for buffing
Waxing :
1. Applicator for Mothers Wax
2. MF towels to buff off the wax residue
remember thin light coat, more is NOT better protection just wasted product
Now what about tires, trim, dash, door and more .... 303 Aerospace Protectant
This should get you started, but don't forget wheels and assorted brushes too. Then perhaps a couple detail sprays to boost the looks and keep the wax protecting.
Let us know if Autogeek can help more !
