Default Do Wheel Woolies Scratch?

Any thoughts/opinions on this?

new C7 black machined aluminum wheels >2k miles. Had detailer coat them with Cquarttz @ 450 miles.

Maybe i'm being picky but i noticed swirls in the black part of the wheels.

Use Uber mixed in waterless ratio and also pre spray.

Woolies shoun't scratch (unless they pick up crap and you're rubbing it against wheel)

Rinse periodically was you clean.

No crap except the 80000lbs of brake dust the stock pads make

Could've been the installer, who knows.

They're very fine swirls like you would see in paint.

Brake dust can be abrasive, infact, rubbing anything against any finish "could" be abrasive. It is best to use a good, safe, wheel soap and use it liberally. Don't use a dry wet, add water before using. Also use good care when drying. Rubbing a towel on the rim could also cause swirls. I spritz mine liberally with a detail spray and try to blot or lightly wipe when needed.

My son has the same problem..... His wheels don't get cleaned for months.

Myself, I would try a rinseless wash AND pre treat wheel with rinseless diluted to qd strength, then use you wheel woolies as well as garbage micros.

Except the part about wheels only getting done once per month (i clean the car once per week), that is the method i use.

rinseless wash is a great idea. I use and recommend Wolfgang, Ultima, and Optimum.
