Default Quality Spray Bottles

I spent this past Saturday detailing my Z06 and was reminded how cheap spray bottles are. I was using the Sonax full effect wheel cleaner spray bottle and the top kept unscrewing and coming off. I also inadvertently dropped the bottle and a lot of product was lost on the ground. This issue is not unique to Sonax. I have also experienced cheap spray bottles for household cleaners as well. Does anyone know of a good spray bottle that they could recommend that wouldn't malfunction after a couple of uses?

Thanks

Any vendor that sells car care supplies usually sell spray bottles. What I do is save my old ones that have proven good and relabel them as needed

http://www.autogeek.net/bottles-sprayers.html

The Kwazer bottles and the Sprayway (grey) bottle work well.

Recently one of the grey Sprayway bottles ripped the top thread, manufacturer asked for a digital picture, and sent me a new one. It had held rim cleaner for about a year, and the sprayer still worked well.

Believe it or not, Sally Beauty Supply has a variety of spray bottles that work just fine for less, and in smaller sizes, as well, to take with you (keep in the car).

Thanks. Is there a specific model that you've had success with?

All the ones I have purchased there have held up quite well, which makes sense, because they are designed for professional use in salons.

I bought several of this type over ten years ago, when I bought my first Vette (Adams bottle for size comparison), and the first one broke just a few months ago. I call that fairly durable. It fits nicely in the rear cubby, as well.

Here is my favorite bottle right now....although I have been using them for 6 months and haven't had a failure, I've only been using them with detail spray, window cleaner, rinseless wash, etc. Nothing super corrosive or hazardous. Having said that, for the price you can buy a crap load in case one gives up the ghost.

The main reason I like these bottles is the wide mouth opening.....I don't need a funnel to fill them. I make up my own detail spray and rinseless cleaning solutions, window cleaning solutions, etc. The wide mouth makes filling a breeze.

Good point, I have 4 of them for over 6 months.....I've used them to the point that my hand/fingers got tired of pumping (I'm mainly doing full size SUV's and pickups at work).

Most of my past bottle failures of any brand bottle has been me accidentally dropping the unit and cracking the head, handle, cap, etc. Not sure how these would handle corrosive liquids like acids, etc. I haven't found an issue with the spray pattern....seems to work fine for me (I like a very fine spray) and they don't seem to dribble much when using them.

For my rinseless car wash, I just switched to a plastic garden sprayer you can pump up...for doing a large vehicle or a lot of them, that is the only way to go

I haven't had to replace a spray bottle due to anything other than dropping them and cracking the head, since i used to use solvents and acids -but i'm not a pro and I'm new to using these newer waterless technologies.

I reuse the bottles that most vendors use, as i find them pretty good.

For mixing my own waterless/rinseless/QD i use the one found at Home Depot like someone posted earlier.

PS.. i tend to buy several products to try them out and see if i like them, so i usually have bottles from products i don't like. I enjoy the car care thing...lol
