compound, wax & polish next step for black paint ?
i spent the 6, 7 hours on the paint yesterday using a dual action 6" orbiter compounded the entire car then waxed last step polished, i'm amazed at the results i was able to remove about 95% of the flaws in the paint and whats left is minor, i was thinking of selling the car or getting it repainted but not any more. I used the Meguiar's Ultimate line and correct foam pad for each
paint is swirl free currently the shine is very nice
what i wanted to know is there any thing else that should be done now? any thing that can add to the shine?
after wash (i know it was neglected) the entire front looked like this
after compound
finish results

I would add a coat of Glaze it has some fillers and it will give you more shine & easy on easy off.

The last step (protection) is where you finalize your work and protect the finish. You have traditional waxes (often 'nuba based) , sealants, or coatings. It really depends on what you expect from your protection and how long before you plan on doing it all over again ???
Waxes offer the shortest protection, but often the greatest of looks. Synthetic sealants last longer and often are glossy and reflective. Coatings last longer than anything else, often sheet or bead water extremely well, and looks extremely glossy. They add maybe 5% to paint, so as you have seen, polishing is the most valuable step in finish prep and outcome.

Waxes typically last a couple months, depending upon weather and exposure to sun and elements.
Used Adam's products exclusively on my black C6 coupe with excellent results, and now on my red convertible.
Check out the Adam's forums too, a lot of posts and topics about black paint specifically.
Car looks great, just need to keep it protected, and shiny!

thanks for the nice word fellas!
boy i tell you picking stuff to use on the paint is harder then finding a heart doctor lol
i'm leaning on a sealant since my car is my summer daily driver, thinking a sealant an a wax here and there will keep it looking nice
i'm looking for products that are easy to apply and remove with out dusting
