Hard Water / Etching Stains on C7 Z51 Black Wheels
Hello all,
I recently purchased a 2016 C7 Z51 from a dealer that had it sitting on the lot for a while and was exposed to their dreaded sprinkler system. The dealer was able to buff out the water stains on the body panels but there is a white residue on the inner portions of all 4 wheels behind the spokes. When I rub my hand over it, it feels rough, almost like a caked on salt. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can treat this?
Any input is appreciated.

you could try a clay bar and then polish the area, probably easier to do with the wheels removed.

Wait till wheels are cool .....
1. clean with a good safe wheel cleaner and barrel brush -- see our Speedway Brush
2. Remove wheel as needed and clay the inside areas with residue. You can also substitute a clay mitt. -
3. Use a paint polish or paint cleansing lotion as needed to clean up any residue. -- Pinnacles Paibteork Lotion is a great chemical cleaner
4. Consider using a wheel coating or other protective coating on this area. I recommend G-Techniq Wheel Armor.

Thanks for the advice guys. I brought it to a detailer friend and he believes it is concrete. I have no clue how that would get in behind the spokes but he is going to take care of it for me at the end of January.
