What do you use to shine and protect under hood
I am curious as to what to use underneath the hood to shine and protect the rubber and plastic. I was thinking possibly silicone. Definitely not Armour All. What do you use? Is there anyting I can buy at a local auto parts store? All input is greatly appreciated.

I use a product called 303 Aero space protectorant. You can get it here; topoftheline.com Shines up the plastic, rubber hoses etc. Leaves no greasey film. I use it on all my cars and trucks. I believe this stuff was recommended by the guys here on the forum. So I'll pass on the recommendation.

When I'm out of the 3M 303 stuff, I use my Zaino tire dressing stuff. Makes all the rubber and plastic under the hood look sharp!

I use Zaino tire shine on the rubber and plastic and use Zaino Z6 on the carbon fiber pieces.

On the rubber, I have used a product from Adam's Polishes called V.R.T. (Vinyl, Rubber and Tires). It is a gel that you put on with a sponge applicator. Lasts for a long time and looks great.
Haven't really done anything to the plastic.

I go to a local detail shop supplier in the area and he sells "Pro" brand products and they are great. I get all my detail stuff from him, and if I have a problem he resolves it and gets a sale in the process. I suggest you find a detail supply shop in your area and don't look back. Their products are usually much better and the prices are competitive. My .02  :seeya

I use a .......wet rag. If I encounter a little oil, I put a little vinegar on the rag. Works for me and is a whole lot cheaper....and my engine compartment looks better than new. :flag
