Default Anyone use a California Car Duster?

I just purchased a California Car Duster and I placed it on some newspaper to air out and to absorb some of the excess pariffin wax...is there anything else I should be doing as prep work for it?

Understand how to use it:

Only let the tassles drag across the surface... don't press down.
  1. Only let the tassles drag across the surface....... don't press down.
  2. Only use it for dust.... it's a California Duster not a California Dirter
  3. If you ride around with in in the trunk and it's hot the parafin wax can be soft for when you use it on the car and it can leave streaks

Also, don't let it take the place of washing. I've seen "Garage Queens" that have not been washed in quite some time and there gets to be a build up of dirt around the emblems.

I've used them for many years without problems, but I am very careful when I use it.

I use it to take the dust off between washes. I have a black car so it is very useful. I gently pass it over the car using NO Pressure. It works well for the dust. Prep wise, that is all I did, put it on newspaper for 2 days. I do not drive around with it.

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

Car Duster:
The best known brand (California Car Duster) it can be used to remove pollen or light dust without causing scratches by applying very little surface pressure with the duster, dusting with long strokes in one direction only. It important to use the duster only for the removal of dry surface dust, if the vehicle has oily road film, road tar, damp pollen or dust, etc it should be washed.

When the duster is first purchased it should be wrapped in newspaper to remove any excess paraffin wax, the duster should not be washed, the dirtier it gets the better it works (I’ve been using mine now for almost five years without it being washed) Shake the duster occasionally to ensure any particles picked up will drop out rather than come to the surface while your using it.

~Hope this helps~
