NCCC Roll Bar
What are the minimum roll bar requirements in NCCC for a modified Z06 Corvette (SCCA SM2 prep level)? I don't have a copy of the rules or am able to find them on-line.
Thanks,
Bob

Bob:
If you don't get an answer through this forum, look me up at the CenDiv event this weekend. I usually carry around a NCCC rulebook in my documents box; I can lend it to you. I don't know the rules off the top of my head; haven't ever had to worry about it. I'm going to assume that your car is a Group III car, but don't take my word for it.

Bob,
I'll dig out my NCCC rules also, but I believe that your SM2 car would be considered GRP 3 or RP. Which means your car will defineatly be requiring some tubing.

roll bar
I run 3H and only have a roll bar. It has to "extend the full width of the drivers/passengers compartment. Be foward or rear braced with the braces being located a maximum of 6 inches from the top hoop at an angle of at least 30 degrees. Steel tubing must be at least 1.5 inches OD with a wall thickness of .125 or .095 for a 1.75 inch bar." For RP the bar needs to be foward and rear braced. You also need a .125 inch inspection hole. Rule book does not specify DOM or electric weld tubing.
Hope this helps.

Bob, I have an electronic copy (pdf) of the NCCC rules I can email you, and anyone else that is interested. I find it convenient to have a copy on my computer at work.
