Randy, I heard lots of good things about this car from a competitor of yours (hint, '03 One lap driver).

Doug and one of the guys drove all night all to BHF. Then it rained, rained and rained some more. They finally got some laps in but it was still very wet out. I don't even think they have a time on the car, sorry Adam. I would share it with you but they just cruised around. Then they drove to Mid-ohio to put some more time on the car. The car wasn't raced there because of the lack of testing time. So the owner ran he's other car during the rest of the weekend. When will the car race? Well when it's fast enough to run up front. Ed Braswell is the owners name and his team is http://www.banditracing.com

oh well...I'll share anyway. Last fall I ran a 1.12.5 at Blackhawk. I assume ED's car should be faster than mine.

Believe it or not, Ed DRAG raced his C5 WC car at Moroso with us 2 month's ago. He was there testing and when we showed up he decided to play on the strip with us.

That C5 WCGT is Tom Rathmans old car, Isn't it. It went super cheap at Barrett Jackson Two years ago. I heard Phil McClures bad crash two years ago made Rathman leave racing. Dunno if that's true or not. Ah well, looks like Braswell is paying full price this time around. Good luck with it.

Just curious, what kind of numbers did he turn on the strip.

He ran a couple low 12's and then a high 11 second pass. While that car is a killer on a roadcourse, the power and gearing is terrible for the drag strip. Ed spun the tires from the starting line all the way through the traps on every run. Just so you all know, he was testing on the Moroso roadcourse in preperation for the following weekends Sebring race. When he saw us all pull in, he figured what the heck lets stay and play. Ed and his team were a blast to be around. They did not mind the onslaught of questions from the drag racers, were happy to take pictures, and were just a few regulars guy's on the track with 30 other Corvette owners. They were just having a ton of fun with the rest of us.

That was JIM Rathman's old car which was an X-Powell car... The DRM car will without a doubt be head and shoulders above what he has now, that I can promise you from first hand experience!

Did you guys know the T1 record at BHF just got lowered last weekend to a 15.1!??! It's crazy, we had one of the fastest running Corvettes in the SPEED GT series that Doug built in 2000 and we would test in the 16's on used tires at BHF and now a freekin T1 car runs those times...

The rain rain rain sounds all too familiar Randy, ask yer dad about both times I flew in to test my hot rod at BHF, same deal...

Brian,
Which one? I have to drive into the cities to pick up mags. Out here in the "country", guns, hunting, crosswords, and four wheel drive trucks.
