Brake/Vacuum question
I've asked this before and not sure if it went anywhere but driving the car yesterday reminded me of it.
I have a moderate cam in my car, I don't have the specs in front of me but around .530/.532, 598/603 on a 112 or 114.
I've often wondered if I'm running out of vacuum or just don't store enough to get good assist on the brakes.
Yesterday during some spirtited driving, I got onto the brakes near redline before pulling it out of gear. The brakes were rock solid, 1/4" pedal travel and great pedal feel. That is one of the very rare times that has happened. I tried to repeat it a few times with no luck.
For the $50 they run I thougth about getting a secondary vacuum canister to test it out.
Anyone think this theory holds any water?
Do those with cams do anything regarding assist with a change in vacuum?
