Default C5 guys with C6 Z brakes...warning on brake lines?

Hey Guys,

Well I ditched the CTS-V brake idea, and instead picked up a set of C6 Z06 brakes and a brand new set of custom CCW SP500s that are made to fit these brakes. The new rotors and calipers are on the car as she sits on stands awaiting the delivery of the new wheels this Friday. Anyway I thought now would be a great time to upgrade the brake lines. However, I heard from Stoptech that "[t]he inboard fittings are also different as the C6 lines use a concave fitting and the c5 uses convex inboard fittings. Using the wrong fitting will provide an improper seal." Anyway, having limited knowledge of these things I thought I would drop by here and see what you knowledgable folks think about this statement.

Is using C5 lines with the C6 Z brakes a no-no? I have not heard of any problems with this setup...especially with losing fluid. Nonetheless, this concerns me greatly.

Any insight (especially any that might assuage any my fears) would be much appreciated.

Don't know but you'll probably get more responses in C5 tech/gen. Not many in this section (I don't think any) have gone with C6Z brakes for other reasons.

There are quite a few in C5 and I haven't heard anything like this.

good luck with it

Send a PM to the guy that races Midwestern Council with a yellow Z06. He has had about every imaginable caliper on the car in last 6 months. He is also on the other forum in racing section.

Lines are different. Get the stoptech lines and don't worry about it.

I just installed SS lines from DRM on my C6Z. They fit perfectly so call Randy at DRM and he can make you whatever you want.
