Default Friday 8/18 Buttonwillow track day only $175!

Leadfoot Adventures has a track day at Buttonwillow Raceway on Friday August 18th and reg is pretty cheap at only $175 for the people who sign up early. This event will sell out though, so you might want to register pretty quick.

If you’ve never done a track day before and you’re curious about what it would be like to drive your Vette on a real racetrack, here's your chance! Seasoned drivers are definitely welcome in the faster intermediate and advanced sessions, but the newest drivers will get special attention. Leadfoot Adventures has a great group of very experienced drivers who will be instructing the rookies both in classroom sessions and out on track. Check out the “Rookie Jump Start” page at leadfootadventures.com for more info if you’re new to the scene.

For those of you who know Buttonwillow, we’ll be running the #13 track configuration, which includes both the “Lost Hill” and “Bus Stop” segments. In the counter-clockwise direction, the exit of the sweeper and entry into the Bus Stop is freakin’ awesome. Man I can hardly wait to get back out there!

See ya at the track!

Ever been to Buttonwillow Raceway? What's your favorite turn? I'm partial to the sweeper-Bus Stop segment, myself.

I like Buttonwillow. Last time I did configuration 13 I did 2:00's with my street bike, but I don't think I can do it with the Z06. I think 2:10 would be a good time in the car. You can see the track configurations on Buttonwillow's site.

Default Motel deal on the way...

Hey gang, we'll be setting up a group discount at one of the many fine, fine resort motels in bustling downtown Buttonwillow.

We'll get some people together for grub and coctails the night before, too.

The $175 registration price has been extended until August 6th, and the final deadline isn't until the 15th or 16th.

Is that your CMC car in your avatar there?

The early-bird pricing has been extended, so if you're on the fence you have until August 12th to save your spot on the grid for only $175. If you're new to the track we'll provide you with an instructor at no extra charge.

As promised, we've secured a discount rate at the Willow Inn for both Thursday and Friday nights. Whether you stay one or both nights, tell them Leadfoot Adventures sent ya and the rate will be $46.95+tax. Check in is after 2pm. The gal said the normal rate is $54.95 on Thursday and $59.95 on Friday, so that's not a bad price break we’re getting.

We'll be getting together at the Willow Ranch restaurant on Thursday evening to get something to eat and hang out for a little while. Hope you can join us!

There's still some room on the grid right now, so if you'd like to go please register soon to make sure you get in.

If you've been waiting to sign up because you're worried about the weather being well above 100 degrees, don't worry... the forecast is for an afternoon high only in the mid-90's, which really isn't all that hot.

My partner Vinny sold his '95 Z28 last year. His mom bought it and gave it to his father for his 60th birthday. It was badass. It has ram air, ton of suspension work and 17" OZ rims...and all black, windows and tailight covers. It was like a stealth mobile.

I was there just yesterday. My two favorite turns are Magic Mountain and the Bus Stop. Buttonwillow is my second favorite track - Spring Mountain being my favorite.

I was there yesterday, too.

I saw your car. I meant to come over and visit....

I was in the LeMans blue Z16 with the silver stripes of course.

Sorry Ed. I did not shoot any new track video this time. I was happy with my track 14a CW 1:58.2 lap time though... and that was done in the heat of the last session!
