Default Hoosier A6 durability/performance

Here is a datapoint for those considering running Hoosier A6's ths season.

Because of some build delays, I had to run a used pair of 335/30/18 A6 rear tires at the Denver ProSolo this weekend. These had previously run in May at the Mineral wells Pro Solo, with 2 drivers, and a couple of challenge runs, so 26 runs total on a long fast course.

I was very concerned that the compound would start to fall off during the Denver event (again, 2 drivers), and temperatures in the 90's. No worries, the tires stayed fast and consistent - running another 24 regular runs and 10 more challenge runs. Good enough for the class win, a decent challenge placing (including a breakout!) and 2nd overall on index.

That's 58 runs of competitive performance, holding 400+rwhp (which get fully exercised - I like to keep them burning) I feel I've gotten my money's worth

Would you mind giving a general camber range?

That number of runs on A series Hoosiers is very good. I hope that the R6 series of tires does as well. I'm going to have to replace my R Hoosiers shortly. Anybody have any feedback on the new design R series tires??

I have two days of HPDE driving on a set of the new R6s, about 300 miles on track on my C6Z. Pocono full is a high speed track with two hard braking zones from 160 and 150 MPH.

They look like they are ready for another 600 miles at least. Excellent grip, but not quite up to the A6 level.

Would I recommend these tires? Absolutely YES!!! They are a delight to drive on.

Does anyone have any experience with the R6s on any tracks that are really hard on tires? I would like to hear from someone that has 2 - 4 days at Summit Point (Main or Shenandoah) or CMP on the R6s.

I ran one session at CMP to heat cycle one day and then several the next day.

They looked and held up well in 95 degree heat.

They feel as good as V710's but they need to last longer in my mind as they cost more.

The rears are about 2 degrees negative, fronts are 2.5 to 3 degrees. Our car does not roll much, so this ends up being pretty much neutral cambered as the body rolls. I use that and a pyrometer as the guide.

Stan,
Nice pic of your car on the cover of the May NA Pylon - shame on you for picking on that poor Honda .
