Default Slicks & Rims

Okay, outside of an F1600 car I crewed for in a past life, I've never run real slicks... always DOT-Rs... can somebody provide a crash course in slicks? I see a lot of folks here seem to like them for Time Trials or even just track days.

Outside of that, I love the CCWs, I want a set, but are there, um, cheaper wheels that'll work on my C6? I'm somewhat leary of the "run four C5 Z06 18x10.5s" since the offset is a bit off and I suspect you'll beat up the wheel arches up front? Not just that, but they seem impossible to find.

Here's hoping that work has a nice bonus/review cycle this year...

I know some folks run VRL left overs. Anybody want to do a little educating?
