Default Performance Driving

Didn't see any posts here regarding track driving. I would love to know what people are doing and think about performance driving with the C6.

I just traded my Subaru STi for a new C6 with the Z51 package. After only one track day, I have to admit I was quite a bit faster in the turns with the STi, but the C6 is about a million times more fun to drive.

How about coming out of them?

Seriously, there are several posts here by Datawiz who did the Spring Mountain course.

He posted some awesome viedo.

And a recent one by Bone daddy http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1455964.

There is also the Roadracing and Autocrossing section of the forum.

I came from a WRX, not quite the same beast but I like the C6. Look under Forums > General Corvette > Autocrossing & Roadracing

Well, coming out of the turns is where the fun began. That car is just so balanced. Except that I didn't know to turn off the active handling and couldn't figure out for a minute what was going on. Lesson learned.

I love passing WRX STIs out at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson Tx. The only place they can stay with me is in the S'es. Once you get the feel for late apexing certain types of turns and trail braking a Vette, then you will really see what fun they can be.

Driving this car on the track is too much fun. It's the only way to truly appreciate it's capabilities and realize how well rounded it really is.

Welcome to the Autocross & Roadracing forum.

I have had many students with WRXs and Evos. Great cars but not quite a corvette.

I'm guessing MAJ moved the post over here - yeah, too much fun on track. It really takes the fun away from driving on the street afterwards. Welcome!

I was scratching my head a little at the beginning myself.....

But, yes, track time really does take the shine off driving on the street - at least if you want to keep your license!
