Default NCCC Convention Results

I'm surprised to see almost nothing on here about the NCCC Convention in Orlando, either here or on the Events section.

They ran Tuesday and Wednesday at Sebring for the low and high speed events, and a couple were asking advice for laps at Sebring, but nothing else has come out of it.

Is NCCC a banned discussion here?

Not at all. What are some of the faster times in each group?

Didn't have much chance to look at other times. I finished third in group 2G posting a 2:38 lap time. I believe FTD was a 2:20 (Larry Beebe in a RPAF looked like a C-5 R clone.) The track was a lot of fun , really fast but really hard on parts.(ie. overheated brakes ,engines and drivers) I highly reccomend Sebring to anyone just try to make it in december! August was a little warm for me.

3rd at convention isn't bad at all. Good job. I'll see the results in a few months in the next blue bars.

Just got back from Sebring. Larry Beebe was Overall FTD in AFRP with a 221.9 but not by much. Johhny Haskell was driving awsome with a 222.2 in RP. Give him another lap and I would put all my money on Johnny. I tried my best with the 87 red IIIE with a 225.5. Bruce Wentzel from Michigan was quite fast to with his new C6 Z06 with Hoosiers and turned a 224.? All was safe except for a red IIE car that got into the wall in turn one. We asked what happened when he came in a he said he never lifted.

Johnny Also ripped off a great lap for Overall FTD on the low speed to. That car of his is stupid fast as well as the driver.

I am sure more people will chime in when they get home from the long drive. I am wooped and going to bed.

Thanks for posting the times from convention. I know everyone was too busy to go online. I expect more info to come soon.

Way to go Bruce!

NCCC isn't banned. It just isn't that great a deal to be part of in my opinion. Sounds like you all had fun in Orlando.

Here is my take on NCCC. I joined and was a member for 2 years. I do 1 high speed autox with them because it was close by. Other than that I would have to drive too far to do their autox. Their high speed is at a couple of tracks that are pretty far away, nothing close. Their Blue Bars or whatever it is, is the most boring rag I have ever read...

The biggest issue I have with NCCC is that they don't run HPDE on a National scale. I think that sux. Instead I run with NASA, THSCC, Mazda, Chin, and PCA. Now it seems pretty ironic to me that I have to run with the Porsche Club to get track time because there is no Corvette Club... And I have nothing against PCA, I enjoy their events.

So being a member of NCCC is a waste of money for me. YMMV.

Johnny H.... stupid fast... go figure!

Looks like you all had a great time. Glad it was safe for just about everyone.

Can't wait for a little CMP action Labot Day weekend. I'll be making the trip from AZ just to go run with the Rat Pack one more time.

Well done Johhny. Good to see you again. I know where I can take off about a second from my time. How much more do you think I'd get if I ran without the A/C on?

BTW, I ran some calculations based on our speeds going into turn 17 and figure you gained 1.3 seconds on me just on that straight.

i 'm sure that made all the difference!!! when the car is doing all the work it gets easier...i saw the needle pass 160 before i'd really be on the brakes...that spin in 17 made me whoa up much more on the other 3 laps..i'm very lucky to have not hit anything!!!
bruce told me he hit the cones in the low speed to let me win LOL..

Hadn't heard about your spin.

Glad you survived that.
