Uk test of C6 Z06 vs 911 Turbo
The Uk Autocar magazine recently did a test of various fast cars on the runway of the City Airport to set the record for speed inside London ( legally!).The runway is very short, 737's can't land there!
Although the latest 911 turbo beat the Z06 in the same magazines 0-100-0 test recently the Vette won this test by reaching 167 mph on the runway versus the 911's 162.6.
What is interesting is that they quote the 0-60 and 0-150 times and the corvette's advantage becomes clear. The Porsche can beat the Z06 by a full second to 60 ( 3.6 vs 4.6 seconds ) But between 60 and 150 the Z06 is about 15% quicker , 13.2 seconds for the Vette versus 15.6 for the Porsche.
So I would think that in the real world, or a track the Z06 can out accelerate the 911 Turbo.
