Do those times and placings make sense to anybody? It looks like an unsorted list...

I know.. How does a 2:16 from Archer lose out to a 2:17 from McCann for the provisional pole?

Sad to report that John is done and will not be racing this weekend.

I was headed to the track when I got a call from a very quiet John telling me that he was packing up and going home.

They just finished pulling an all-nighter to replace a failed brake system from the day before, and it was the 7 AM GT practice session. Well there was some rain the night before and there was a little water still on the track.

He had completed a couple of laps and started pushing the limits of the car...well he was coming down the kettle (this is where my cell broke a little) and got on the brakes, through a little water and the car broke loose...something like that.

Car came around and the rear hit a barrier.

He said looking at the car, it doesn't look bad at all and it's very fixable...just not at the track.

They headed home right away because they will fix the car and be ready for Mosport park in September.

Yup, car is hurt, driver is fine. The car was untested yet seemed fast. It was hanging with several Vipers up the main straight and seemed to corner well. We're not sure if something broke or if the driver just hit a wet spot and spun. Doesn't really matter as it needs fixing either way.

Why is Lieghton so fast and Lou still not up to speed ??? I know Lou is carrying some extra wieght, but what is the story??? I guess we'll know tomorrow after qualifying. Practice is just practice

Sucks to hear about Boos. I was expecting him to do well. I know that I hit a wet spot (on asphalt sealer) in Kettle Bottoms during the OLOA , and I had a whole bunch of Sparco sucked in......Thank God I didn't hit anything. Again, sorry to hear about John and Ron's incident.

Danny that is it. Vet min wt is 3100 same as the vipers now. But Lou has his rewarrds weight for doing so well.

Plus Leighton knows Road America extreemly well.

Adam Malquist(sp?) ( occational visiter here) blew his new engine I believe from reading some notes. about a huge puff of smoke then the car coasted off the side of the track.

Like Leighton said, some may not have been giving it everything during practice. I don't know Archer or Aschenbach but with Fellows and Pilgrim in 7/8 I think the SCCA view of equality is just a bit off. Good job Leighton on the home course and good job Lou given the handicaps.

Hi guys,

we are getting ready to go to grid. I gave it all we had in qualifying. Leightons car is 140 pounds lighter than my car per the great rules. That is almost exactly 1.5 sec difference which is what we would expect from that much weight difference. So that shows that this was truly a bogus weight adjustment.

Funny how the Porsche and viper are still fast.

On the radar gun we are 6 mph down from the fast viper. this is really the best rolling dyno in the series.

My goal is to finsh 8th so I cna at least keep the point lead.

Harry Turner fined me $2000 for saying that he did a "good job" with the new adjustments.

great to be here.

On the birght side the scca BOD is at the race and they are on top of this.

The harder we work the luckier we get. So we plan on working hard this race.

Thanks for the props and stay tuned. There should be some real bonehead moves in this race, which should work in my favor.

Thanks
lou G

Some ppl just cant take a complement.

Persoanlly that In my profession opinion ( When I am not making bad jokes) that fine just provides amuntion that Lou is correct and Mr Turner is worried. If Mr. Turner did not level the fine, and just said something like, "Thank you" Then they PRO-SCCA ppl would not be concerned.

Looks like a few more rules need to be changed. Local yellows to clean up not full course Yellows. Too many laps waisted
