I'm glad to see that diesels are no longer on the horizon but making more in-roads into American automotive circles. I actually saw a quick clip of this in today's SportsCenter Top-10.
Maybe when we get diesels into the mainstream car society these hybrids will die off (or they get much, MUCH, better!).

We just bought a Diesel Jetta for my wife's commute to work. Awesome little car, and she's getting just under 40mpg during break-in (they say it gets better as the engine loosens up).
I'd been reading about this racer in Sportscar Engineering, looks like they really came through. 100mph boost in the record is nothing to sneeze about!
