I know these have been on backorder forever - with no end in sight for the very near future...

Now I'm down to my last 4 tires and those will be corded pretty soon... definitely going to need some tires SOON - anyone know where I can get these??? I'd rather NOT go to Hoosiers...

Donna,
I know this is a sore subject, But I will keep my ears open when the containers hit the ports so you will have a better Idea when to expect them.

Great meeting you at convention and NICE running. Hope to meet again soon.

Hey Racerboy does this problem have any thing to do with the delay?

Hey Donna,
Just buy a set (or at least a pair) of 17" wheels & run 315-35-17's.
They are available & about $50 a tire cheaper than the 18's.
If you don't like this set-up, you can always resale the 17's when the shortage is over.
I know a person in your area with some 17x11's for sale.
Let me know if you need his ph. number.

Pancho,
I have heard no current recalls to date and no bulletins. One of the reasons the Tirerack is out is because alot of the SCCA Solo,Pro Solo and run off guys bought a crap load of sets in advance for the upcoming month in Topeka.

I will keep everyone posted as I am.

Hey Donna.... If you go for the 17x11, I have some of the Hoosiers with 3 heat cycles that I bringing to CMP to sell. I bought them for my race car, but I sold it yesterday to a guy in Indy.

I now have some race tires, race gas and some brakes all to get rid of at CMP.... cheap too.

Aaron:

With all due respect, I went to get a pair of 315/35-18s on July 10th and Tire Rack was out (okay, they had one tire in Reno). So if the SCCA guys (me included) were stocking up early, it was really early.

I hate to say it, but at this time it looks like I'm on Hoosiers for the Solo Nationals. This after having Kumhos on my cars my last few times out.

I was willing to buy fresh tires from both K and H and do my own comparison, but without K availability, it's a moot point.

But I do understand where raftracer and bpc5r are coming from!

Thanks to ALL of you who PM'd or replied to me about these tires... I'm sorry about the delayed reponse post - I'm working on very little access to email - and when I DO get on - it's slow dial-up access...

If I wasn't competing to stay in first place in NCCC championship series I wouldn't be freaking out nearly as much about not having access to some good tires ...

Scotty - you're the bomb! Thanks for helping me!

Aaron - thanks If you do hear of anything else, pls let me know... I do realize, however, that I am not the only one waiting on these

Anthony - I am probably going to ride out this season on the 18's all around, since I have 3 sets of CCW 18's now. I will likely be selling these at the end of the year and going to 17's for the very reason you suggest - easier and cheaper to run 17's...If the 17's you have are CCW's I'm interested!

Johhny/Deb - THANK YOU for the offer!! Email sent
