Default WGI with FCA this weekend -- WooHoo!

Heading up to Watkins Glen this weekend for a 3-day track event with Ferrari Club of America Empire State Region. The Z-car will be dicing it up with the F-cars all weekend and having an absolute ball. It's a really well run event, lots of track time, and lots of great cars. I finally got a set of Kumho V710s for the spare wheels, so looking forward to trying out the car with slicks. It has done great on the track, including 2 days at the Glen earlier in the summer, on street tires. Can't wait to see what it will do with slicks.

BTW, anyone who might be interested, FCA-Empire State Region is running a one day event at Pocono, long course, on Tuesday, Oct. 3. You can get information and the event application on line at:

Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend everyone!!

I sent an e-mail to the contact on the website. The registration form implies Ferrari powered vehicles only. I will let you know once they respond.

Hey, be good to see you. I have a black '03 Z (see avatar). I'm sure we'll connect if you're up there. My slicks are on stock Z wheels, so unless it's raining and I have the street tires on, don't look for the black/silver wheels in the pic.

As for the Pocono event, even though the app suggests F-car powered only, they do allow other "appropriate" cars to run. Our Vettes more than qualify to participate. There are a few events that are truly Ferrari-only, but the Watkins Glen event and Pocono event in Oct. are not restricted.

Regards,
Steve
