Wasn't the last race in pouring rain? How can they make any intelligent decisions after that race?

If the last race was Mosport...then yes it was raining big time!

Maiugi,
They're talking World Challenge, not ALMS. No C6-R in WC, just Lou and Leighton.

The following competition adjustment has been determined by the SCCA Pro Racing staff and approved by the
Acting President. It is important to reiterate that contacting members of the Board of Directors again has no place
in this process as they have not, and will not, be a part of the day-to-day operations and management of the
series.
Further, if a driver were to receive a conduct fine by the series and wish to appeal the fine, it will be dealt with
within the framework of the SCCA Pro Racing Regulations and by the SCCA Pro Racing staff (including the
Acting President), just as all others have been handled this year. At no point does the SCCA Inc. or SCCA Pro Racing Board of Directors have anything to do with the fine/penalty process, operational or day-to-day management of the series.
There have been rumors that an individual has gone through the Board for adjustments and to have a personal fine overturned. Those statements are false. It is unfortunate that we have to deal with such issues at what is clearly a critical time in the grand scheme of the series.
The following adjustment is based on the collection of data throughout the season. We regret making another adjustment to one vehicle, but inconsistent results from the data collection have proven at times to be misleading. Grand Touring
Chevrolet Corvette C6: Change base weight from 2950 to 3025 lbs.

I started to watch these races because of LG. I had a few recorded so this weekend I watched them. The last race all you see is the all wheel drive volvo just pull away. Ron Fellows said that the Volvo would be almost impossible to beat inthe rain.

Having been involved with the SCCA for more than 25 years all I can say is; So whats new??. The SCCA rules gerrymandering has been going on since the SCCA began. Years ago, when running my Solo II 1275cc DP MG Midget the SCCA adjusted the weight of the MG from 1250# to 1500# over a few seasons. I literally had a steel box filled with lead shot bags in the passenger seat. Calculate that % weight increase!! The Corvette would have to weigh 3540#

The SCCA like every other organization has a "corporate culture" that is defined by the leadership. The old guard still rules the SCCA so don't expect the culture to change. FWIW.

I can believe that, I'm just a novice, but I'm loving NASA And with actions like this I have no desire to drive at a SCCA event at any level.

Privateers threatening to boycott. That wouldn't mean much. Factory teams threatening to boycott. That gets their attention. Follow the money...

Sad to say but the loyal following for LGM and Banner doesn't amount to much for GM or SCCA. Where the Caddy is a big deal for both because that is what GM wants to showcase.

Now if ALL the non-factory teams (including Porsche, Viper, etc...) said that the SCCA and their rules are crap. And ALL of them threatened to leave the series. Then maybe if half or more of the cars would be gone. That might stir up some trouble. That would impact SCCA.

Interested to hear comments from Lou?

This series has become a joke, nothing more than a car show, with the winner picked by the highest bidder. This has now become WWF on wheels. Bottom line is that GM and other factory sponsored cars do not want privateer to win after spending millions. You can BET they had conversations with SCCA that you better fix or we'll pull out and you'll have no series.

I was SO impressed by Micahel Galati's Volvo at Mosport (in the rain) that I think SCCA should now REQUIRE Volvos to carry Corvettes on their backs during rain races.
