PDA WGI = Fun
Had a fun time at WGI Monday/Tuesday with PDA. Plenty of vettes showing off their power and driving skills even in the early morning rain session on Tuesday. Anyone that left Tuesday missed on on some good driving sessions. PDA combined groups and we had 30 min sessions. Unfortunately I only got 1 decent session in that day because my clutch seemed to be hanging and I could not shift when it was hot.
I did have 1 really close call. Tuesday I changed over from slicks to MPSC because of the rain. The 2nd session the tires ran great (probably my 2nd fastest session of the 2 days) because it was cool and the track was almost dry. The 3rd session though the track heated up and going up through the esses the backend just started to slide out. Seeing the guard rail on the left at 120 knowing the backend is coming around was not cool at all. Luckily I eased the gas back and turned the front wheels into the slide and the tires hooked up again. I came in after that. Ok Active handling probably did most of the work to save me.
Other ECS cars did well. Doug@ECS 447 was running at +157 on the back straight. The StopTech brake setup surely helped give the confidence to push the car further. Unfortunately his Tuesday ended when the steering rack pump went out . Bad Machine's H/C car proved to be quick now he just needs to beef up the suspension. Mwferrari last min. install of a ECS built 385 had a nice break in session. That car was moving though I think with 20+ years of driving experience Mort could get any car to move.
BTW Mort - thanks for all the advice on Monday. .
all in all a good time to a HPDE year that is quickly coming to an end.

Very nice shot of the car Bob.
Glad you were able to save it and not have to purchase a spot on the "Blue Wall of Shame"
Bad,
So tell us are you pleased with your mod? Did you pass Bob??

Jose - I wish that we had more time on the track to run together. Since Monday the track was crowded Tuesday would have been more fun, but between your brake vibration issue and my clutch issue we never saw each other.
Next time...
