two 2.5 mile ciructes could be combined to make a 5 mile

Ok so much for this idea. 200 memeberships at $50,000 each must be sold BEFORE the track is built.

Wow! $50,000 charter membership and subsequent memberships at$100,000.

That excludes most of us in the textile business.

that excludes most of us working schlubs. Well, let's see. If I don't pay rent, phone bill, car payment, electric bill, storage units, etc and don't eat for 2 years. I can do it. Thats a plan!!! Wait..I'll need car parts to run

interesting track layout....the full 5 miles looks like it could be a handful.

doubt they are going to get 200 50k members before ground breaks...build it and then they will come...not the other way around.

I also wonder where....RA is ~ an hour outside of atl, but it would be odd to build a new track right near RA...hope it is reasonable distance from charlotte though

I'm sure the bank would understand why I need a 3rd mortgage.

This concept has been used in France and Spain.

But this one mostly seems like a website and idea at the moment. Based on the topo map elevations it is not likely to be south of Atlanta.

The "Motorsports Club" idea is not new. It is a proven business model and it IS how a lot of these newer (Or back-from-the-dead) facilities can afford to exist in this real estate market where land is at a premium.

VIR is a club and so is MSR. Most tracks have some sort of club type arrangement in some capacity. It is how they can afford to pay the bills during the week and on off-weekends.

When they get their memberships (Enough to pay for the construction) the track will be built and it will be rented to car clubs just like every other track in existence. The memberships will pay for build costs but not operating. They still need to get that from somewhere.

Wasn't there a thread here not long ago about RA having problems with neighbors, and possible new developments nearby that might make continuing difficult?

Located

We will be near the Alabama/Georgia border off I-20. The location is legitimately 1 hour from I-20 and 285.

I agree and it looks to be quite a "cut and fill" project from the contours.
