I saw it in the programming guide and set it to record with the hopes of it being mislabled as the Road Atlanta race. No such luck.
Did anyone catch the rain tire segment at the beginning of the telecast? They don't have special rain tires, do they? They look to be unshaven Toyo RA1's to me.

Besides, shaved is better in almost any situation
BTW, sorry for the spoiler, wasn't thinking that others might read this post that hadn't seen the outcome.

They said the front tires looked like a good tread to channel water out and away, but could not figure out how the rear tread worked.
Didn't Archer say they were shaved street tires not rain tires anyway?

What it looks like is that they run the shaved Toyo RA1's for the dry and then run unshaved for the wet.
Maybe Lou can answer this question for us?

The rain tires we use are Toyo RA1's at full tread depth, we run the shaved versions for the dry. The sizes are already made for us, 275 fronts and 335 rears on 18's.

What was the announcer talking about when he said that there were different tires for the front and rear? I can see different sizes, but not different types of tires.
